The next meeting of Burston and Shimpling Parish Council will be held on Wednesday September 23rd, 2026,
at 7.30pm, at The Strike School, Church Green, Burston for the purpose of transacting the following business:

AGENDA

  1. To consider any apologies

  2. To update Councillors Declarations of Interest and receive any declaration regarding agenda items.

  3. Public participation, County and District Councillors reports.

  4. To approve the minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on 22nd July 2026

  5. To report Matters Arising from the Minutes not on the agenda – for information only

  6. To note correspondence as listed on the attached schedule and which are not separate agenda items.

  7. Finance: Papers to be distributed prior to the meeting where possible

    1. To approve the attached report of payments and receipts since the previous meeting

    2. To approve the monthly statement of accounts for July and August 2026

    3. To arrange Remembrance wreaths

    4. To begin initial discussion regarding the Budget for 2027-2028.

    5. To note the insurance premium has been issued, circulated prior to the meeting.

    6. To note the local government pay scale has been agreed. The back pay from April 2026 will be paid to the Clerk and the new rate has commenced from August 2026.

    7. To discuss donation request from Ormiston Families Charity

  8. Planning Applications as received from South Norfolk Council for consultation.

    1. To note application 2026/1766 has been approved with conditions. Parish Councillors were informed by email in-between meetings.

  9. Highways & PRoW Update

  10. Recreation ground update.

    1. Off Hire period for port a loo was agreed via email prior to the meeting.

    2. Report from this years Picnic in the Park

  11. Community Climate Action Group update.

  12. Village Event: To note that the next Litter Pick will be on 10th October 2026

  13. To discuss revised contract for Village Caretaker. Details circulated prior to the meeting.

  14. To discuss request from Burston Primary School to mark Remembrance Day on the Church Green.
