Update on the known road closures in the area

Current Road Closure Orders

The Long Stratton Bypass is now open – some road management with lights as work continues on connecting roads into Long Stratton.

STRO13090 – Tivetshall Rail Crossing – OVERNIGHT CLOSURES

Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the “Order”) (STRO13090) affecting the B1134 Long Row from its junction with C343 Plantation Road for 1550m eastwards (the “Road”) in the Parish of Tivetshall St Margaret and Tivetshall St Mary to facilitate patching works, the Road will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which is anticipated to be between 19:00 and 06:00 from 8th to 13th September 2025, but may continue to be closed/restricted until the 25th October 2025 where the closure is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

NB: Please note that the works will take place overnight.

Alternative route is via: Long Row, Station Road, Ipswich Road, Diss Road, Victoria Road, Park Road, Denmark Street, Shelfanger Road, Church Road, Winfarthing Road, Mill Road, The Street, Hall Road, Short Green, Mile Road, Heath Road (Pulham Market, Roydon, Tibenham, Diss, Gissing, Heywood, Winfarthing, Dickleburgh and Rushall, Scole, Tivetshall, Shelfanger, Burston and Shimpling, Aslacton).

STRO13276 – Burston and Shimpling – Audley End

Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the “Order”) (STRO13276) affecting the C341 Audley End from its intersection with the level railroad crossing for 10 metres north westwards and 10 metres south eastwards (the “Road”) in the  Parish of Burston and Shimpling to facilitate Network Rail track inspection works, the Road will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which is anticipated to be from 23:00 on the 3rd November to 05:00 on the 4th November 2025, but may continue to be closed/restricted until the 16th December 2025 where the closure is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

Alternative route is via: Audley End, Burston Road, Church Road, Broad Way, Back Lane, Shimpling Road, Dickleburgh Road, Pug Street, Station Road, Crown Green, Rectory Road, Audley Close (Dickleburgh and Rushall, Scole, Burston and Shimpling).

The works promoter for this restriction/closure is: Network Rail. Vehicular access will be permitted to a final destination in the Road where signs indicating such access is possible and permitted are in place.  The Order shall automatically revoke on the completion of the works when the closure is no longer necessary or otherwise on the 16th December 2025 without further notice.

If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date the Order is effective.

A person who contravenes, or who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the closure imposed by the Order shall be guilty of an offence.

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.  In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance.
