The third stage of public and stakeholder engagement has now commenced in relation to the Broadland and South Norfolk Design Code. The Design Code is being produced by Broadland District Council and South Norfolk Council, through Tibbalds Planning and Urban Design Ltd.
Over the last nine months, Tibbalds has been working with South Norfolk and Broadland District Council to produce a Design Code that is reflective of the key design issues and priorities across the two districts, substantially informed by previous rounds of engagement with residents and stakeholder bodies that took place during summer and autumn 2024. Once adopted, the Design Code and associated documents will form an important part of the planning guidance for both authorities and will be used by site developers designing residential schemes, as well as the planning team when assessing submitted proposals.
This current focus is on the draft Design Code itself, as well as a draft Broadland Character Assessment and an Assessment Toolkit that have been prepared to support the code. We are inviting those interested to provide feedback on the contents of these draft documents via our online engagement platform.
To take part in the consultation, which finishes at 5pm on Monday 23rd June, please visit Broadland and South Norfolk district-wide Design Codes | Broadland and South Norfolk (southnorfolkandbroadland.gov.uk) and follow the link to the online engagement platform.
